These graceful animals inhabit the waters of Hawaii. The honu are featured in Hawaiian mythology, petroglyphs were for longevity as they could live for 100 years and as aumakua (personal family gods). Early Hawaiians used green sea turtles as a source of food, tools and ornamentation. The native Hawaiians made sure to keep their use of the turtle in balance with nature. Porpoise - Nai'a. (not to be confused with dolphins or mahi mahi) The hawaiian spinner dolphins are in abundant around the islands and we made this Mother and child dolphin art piece to embrace the nature we see here everyday.
